What is Brigalow Avenue?
Brigalow Avenue is a free neighbourhood marketplace and noticeboard for Camden South and the surrounding Camden suburbs in south-west Sydney. Neighbours use it to sell things, give stuff away, post garage sales and local events, and ask to borrow something. It’s run by neighbours, for neighbours.
Is it free?
Yes. Joining and posting are free, and there are no ads or fees.
Who can join?
Anyone living in the Camden area. You pick your suburb when you sign up, then confirm your email and your mobile, so everyone on the site is a real local.
What can I post?
Things for sale, free stuff and kerbside pickups, garage sales, local events, and requests to borrow or find something. Businesses, resellers and anything illegal or unsafe aren’t allowed. The community rules have the details.
Is my phone number or email shown to anyone?
No. Your email and mobile are never shown. Neighbours contact you through messages on the site, and you choose if and when to share your number or address.
How long do listings stay up?
Listings come down automatically after 30 days, or 7 days for free items, so everything on the site is current. You can renew a listing from My listings, and mark it as gone once it’s sold or collected.
How do I stay safe when buying or selling?
Meet in daylight, in public or with someone else home. Never pay a deposit or send money before you’ve seen the item, and use “Report this listing” if something looks wrong.
Where can I check fuel prices, the weather or the river level?
The Fuel & live page shows the cheapest fuel around Camden, the weather forecast and the Nepean River level at Camden Weir. The Local alerts page has the river chart, flood levels, official alert links and emergency numbers.
